The Lord's Household
Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea
April 1999 / revised September 2001 (Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany)

27 April 1999
This is a detailed account of a dream I had while stationed in Korea and serving God as a Minister of Music for the Base Chapel at Kunsan Air Base.
Revised, Sep 23, 2001.

There is a nice house, typical for a middle-income family. Well kept and strong. It is evening as the family sits down together to dinner. They begin to speak of their day as the meal is set upon the table. As the children speak and the conversation slips softly to more worldly notions, there comes a harsh banging, like a closed fist upon the main door to the home. The mother returns from the door and tells the father. "Dear, it is Satan and he want to come in."

The father passes it off without losing focus of his children, casually he says "No, he may not enter."

As the conversation continues and the children speak more and more of worldly things, the banging echoes through the house reverberating from the walls, strongly and rapidly.
The father ignores it.

As the family joins hands to pray, the door is blasted from its hinges and posts cleanly without a splinter and Satan enters the home. The rushing wind whirls through the house causing chaos all around. Curtains are not violently lashing in the wind almost pulled from their restraint.

Satan rushes to the dining room where he find the family, their heads bowed, hands and hearts joined in prayer. The violent winds spin around the family; pictures are torn from their place on the wall. He lashes out to the minds of the children taunting them, tempting them to The father does not lose his focus in prayer for his family. He continues to pray and bless the meal and the evening to God's glory. Satan howls about the room, in every effort to break through to their minds and distract them each from their Father's prayers. The father senses the winds of distraction in his mind and more deeply focuses on God's peace. Closing his eyes even tighter than before, he prays for peace and love for these at the table. As God's peace surrounds them a barrier to Satan's violent attack is established fully enclosing the family with a protective hedge of love. Satan screams in anguish as if in his mind cannot fully grasp what has occurred.

The father's peaceful voice resounds over the room has occurred as he closes the evening prayer, "In Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen." The room is now a soft loving glow as the family begins their meal. The power of Jesus' blood has vanquished Satan. Pictures, curtains, and the doors of the house are as they were, undisturbed.

The dining room is peaceful, the door back in place, as if never disturbed. The family raises their heads and silently rejoices in the victory bought with the blood of Jesus.

Spiritual warfare is not plainly visible in our lives. It is often subtle and creeps into our lives unsuspectingly. Satan is a coward and has no power YOU do not give to him. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the light. Invite Jesus into your heart and home and the peace that surpasses all understanding will reign in your hearts forever more.
